Allan McDougall, a member of the United Steelworkers, is the Program Coordinator for the Emergency Response Team that serves 850,000 Union Members. As a grief counselor, Allan responds to work-related critical injuries and fatalities and acts as a bridge between the company and the families across the nation.
Known for his visionary and strategic leadership, Allan also facilitates the Educational Programs for the union on a local, national and international level, implementing and conducting accredited courses for members in the United States and Canada. Mr. McDougall uses assessment and proven strategies to facilitate and assist members with lifestyle issues such as alcoholism, the misuse of prescription and street drugs, gambling, divorce and the loss of a loved one. His programs empower individuals to develop the knowledge, motivation and skill-sets needed for life-long recovery. Allan is able to deal with high levels of complexity while at the same time achieving and exceeding milestones and goals that have been set for him and many of the members he serves.
Allan compliments many years of expertise with ongoing training and continued progressive study. He attended the University of Maryland where he obtained his BA, and then obtained his MS from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
A powerful speaker and trainer, Allan is a member of Les Brown’s elite Platinum Speaking Network. Allan has also earned the Distinguished Toastmaster award, which is the highest award the Toastmaster Organization bestows. The DTM recognizes a superior level of achievement in both communication and leadership.
Powerfully dynamic, he integrates proven strategies into personalized programs. His real life experiences, energy and captivating style, influences, motivates, educates and inspires audiences to take the action required to change their lives for the better. He uses those traits as a speaker for Mother's Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and is a volunteer member on their Victim's Impact Panel.
As a member of The National Speaking Association and The Vistage Speaker's Bureau, Allan has worked with leading high performance organizations around the globe.
